The World Wide Web (known as "WWW', "Web" or "W3") is the universe of network-accessible information, the embodiment of human knowledge.
The Web has a body of software, and a set of protocols and conventions. Through the use hypertext and multimedia techniques, the web is easy for anyone to roam, browse, and contribute to. An early talk about the Web gives some more background on how the Web was originally conceived.
Chat
is a text-based communication that is live or in real-time. For example, when talking to someone in chat any typed text is received by other participants immediately. This is different from other text-based communications such as e-mail where it could be a couple of hours, days, or weeks to receive a response.

Electronic mail, commonly called email or e-mail, is a method of exchanging digital messages from an author to one or more recipients. Modern email operates across the internet or other computer networks. Some early email systems required that the author and the recipient both be online at the same time, in common with instant messaging. Today's email systems are based on a store-and-forward model. Email servers accept, forward, deliver and store messages. Neither the users nor their computers are required to be online simultaneously; they need connect only briefly, typically to an email server, for as long as it takes to send or receive messages.

Social networking is the practice of expanding the number of one's business and/or social contacts by making connections through individuals, often through social media sites such as Face book, Twitter LinkedIn and Google+
